Flying Rana

The works on the boat have begun ..
After two weeks of friends visits and pirates counselations I lifted Rana out of the water and started the boatworks. 'Tous ses hommes qui travaillent sur mon bateau! Ahhh, c'est encore plus erotique que l'erotisme meme!'

Marigaud Bay
The summer is still full on in the South of France. 30 degrees n clear blue skies every day. Life is easy n slow ... Siesta is holy and tomorrow is another day. The soft Rythm of douzement douzement dances over the docks. But Helena Fabelina crosses on her orange racebike from one pirate to the other, from master to counselor to seduce them to help her with her boatworks and how them pirates love to advice the little girl and how they kick on showing all they know, preferably while enjoying a nice cold beer n a fine rolled cigarette. But Fabelina is full of energy and wants to work! Rana should be ready for sea as soon as possible for we want to Sail them new sails and catch the last summer weeks under the bright sun! Some boats prepare for the crossing to Brasil and Fabel wants to catch up with them .. Meanwhile she is invited  for dinners concerts and miraculous sunsets here and there and everywhere ... n slowly she catches the rythm ... 'I might as well'.... she dreams over a glass of old rum and the finest company of wild world travellers, artists, dreamers n revolutionaries ... 'I might as well stay with the pirates until next spring will take me with her in her fresh morning breeze,  to explore the Mediterranean Sea and the roots of Western Culture, searching for ancient myths and lost islands ... Heading for New Atlantis' and dreamingly she sings another song n enjoys the beauty of them men n pink flamingos...
But the next morning she wakes up with the first rays of sun n jumps on her bike again to try to inspire the clan to make Rana ready for the waves. Cause that wild wave of explorers energy flowing through my restless mind won't calm down before we first Set Sail.

Maestro Denis
I encountered a Master! The magnificent naval architect Denis Kyrgomard. Denis guides me in my boatworks and teaches me how to work with epoxy n wood. He is an amazing personality, famous for a wise wild innovative and very humble spirit. He builds high-tech authentic catamarans, who look like fast n spacy seabirds. Check his site:
www.alibi-architecture.eu

The mast is covered in epoxy now. Every pirate has a different vision and they all love to advice me on what to do how. The traditional pirates scream n cry when I tell them about my epoxy plan. They shout: 'But it's wood. It's alive! You kill it.' The more modern pirates call it poetically: 'Epoxy simply stops time' ... My whole boat is in wood epoxy, but still it takes me 10 days to decide to finally work my mast with epoxy as well.

My mast:
An original Spruce tree almost ready for life long epoxy
Covered in a fine film of wood&paint after a long day of scratching
Earth
drawn by nature on a forgotten polyester hull in construction

I met La Muse d'O, a bright n yellow sailing theatreboat based in Sete, now preparing for the Mediterrenean n wild circus at sea! Last week was their first performance n soon we'll organize something Fabulistic together. We tie the boats together and stage trapeze nimfs n flying lions! Their site is almost in the air ... Here you can read an article about last weeks spectacle:
